TOWN HALLS & WORKSHOPS · ST. LOUIS

Workshops that
bring us together.

Shared stories. Curious questions. Conversations that help us understand one another. Our St. Louis community workshops offer practical ways to talk across differences, starting with family and friends and rippling out into our neighborhoods.

Explore the two workshops below. Town Talks Live adapts each gathering as events unfold, with a focus on building connection and strengthening conversations within our communities.

CONVERSATION WORKSHOP

Let’s Talk: Saving Democracy
One Conversation at a Time.

Community members taking part in a Town Talks Live workshop in a library meeting room.

Let’s re-envision the town hall and other community gatherings by learning how to talk to one another. We’ll gather and share stories of who we are and why we are choosing to be engaged in democracy.

Our country was founded on the idea of the free exchange of ideas. With civil discourse and shared conversation norms as our foundation, we can relearn how to listen and talk about policy that affects us, our loved ones, our neighborhoods, and our community.

Together, we can craft a democracy that makes this country work for all. It begins right here, with us: building connection and choosing leaders of integrity and political will who represent us. These workshops are the foundation for resetting the conversation.

2026 WORKSHOP · POLICY MATTERS

Policy Matters: Guided Conversations
for Civil Political Discourse

Each workshop focuses on a different policy issue, giving us time to listen to and discuss different perspectives and ideas. Maybe we can solve what Congress cannot! Guided group conversations use techniques from Let’s Talk.

If you missed the first workshop, you can still join us. We’ll review and agree to the conversation norms that keep our discussions civil and productive before we begin.

Topics may include

Housing & transportation

How we live and move through our communities.

Energy & healthcare

The policies that affect our everyday lives.

Education & ballot initiatives

Questions we bring to our schools and our ballots.
